Welcome to Hackerbot (the “Bot”, “we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern the use of the Bot, a Discord moderation and utility bot. By inviting the Bot to a Discord server or by using any of its commands, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Bot.
The Bot provides moderation, automation, and utility features for Discord servers, including (but not limited to): moderation commands (bans, kicks, mutes, temp bans, warnings), automated word and name filtering, anti-spam protection, welcome messages, giveaways, polls, reminders, self-assignable groups and reaction roles, channel linking, and server configuration tools. Features may change over time, and server administrators control which features are enabled and how they behave.
You must meet the minimum age requirements of Discord’s own Terms of Service to use the Bot. By using the Bot, you represent that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction and that your use of the Bot complies with applicable laws.
You agree not to use the Bot, or encourage others to use it, to:
Server administrators who configure or use the Bot’s moderation features are responsible for how those features are applied in their server. The Bot acts on the configuration provided by server administrators and on commands issued by users with the appropriate permissions. We are not responsible for moderation decisions made by server administrators or for the rules of any individual server.
We may take action, up to and including removing the Bot from a server or blocking a user from using it, if we reasonably believe that use of the Bot violates these Terms, Discord’s Terms of Service, or applicable law. We may also suspend or terminate service to any server at our discretion, with or without notice.
The Bot, including its code, commands, and branding, is owned by or licensed to its operator. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Bot other than the limited right to use it in accordance with these Terms.
The Bot is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Bot will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, and we do not guarantee that moderation actions will occur in any particular way or at any particular time.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Bot. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the Bot in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or, if no fee was paid, the liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
The Bot depends on the Discord API and other third-party services. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or policies of Discord or any third-party services, and your use of the Bot is subject to Discord’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
We may modify or discontinue the Bot, or any feature of it, at any time, and we may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If you continue to use the Bot after changes are posted, you accept the revised Terms. If a change is material, we will make a reasonable effort to notify affected users.
You may stop using the Bot at any time by removing it from your server. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Bot immediately, with or without notice, for breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 7, 8, and 9) will survive.
